Outside Events

Huxley's has a large flying team who are available to provide demonstrations at various shows, school fetes, country fairs, weddings, birthday parties or in fact most events being held. We can provide a static display of a selection of our birds, including owls, hawks and falcons; backed up by a flying display if required.

Our demonstrations can be flexible to suit the requirements of your particular day and we will also be available to talk to visitors and answer any questions.

Please Email, Telephone or Come in and see us to find out more information.

Talks at the Centre

Our talks and displays at various functions are also very popular. We have visited a variety of venues, for example: Brownies, Guides, Scouts, Cubs, WI, Photographic Societies and so on, and can provide an entertaining time for everybody. The talks can cover a wide range of subjects involving falconry, birds of prey and owls - and can be tailored to suit your interest. Where possible, we like to involve members of the audience to help us with flying some of the birds. We are never short of willing volunteers! Our aim, as always, is to educate and entertain too.

Educational Visits

We firmly believe that the way to protect and conserve for the future is through education. Therefore, we are happy to visit schools with a selection of our birds of prey and owls. We can adjust our talk and demonstration to cover the topics required through all key stages, and all age ranges from reception upwards. Our visits can be for a part or for a whole day and are becoming increasingly popular. We will also provide the children with the opportunity to get close to and maybe even stroke an owl. We encourage the classes to have questions ready to ask us - you'd be surprised how detailed these can be!

We also welcome schools to visit us here at the Centre, where they will see all our birds on display. Some come to see us for a morning or afternoon, and some bring picnic lunches and spend the day with us. Whichever you choose, you can be sure that the children will learn a lot, through a talk and questions session, handling or stroking an owl and watching a flying display. There is also a quiz which children can take around the Centre and discover whether they are right before the flying display begins.

We can guarantee that the children (and adults) will have an experience to remember; after all, what better way to learn and remember than meeting the real thing.
